Am back

from our jollies! Went to stay with my sister and bil, very good week.

Monday was Natural History Museum, Tuesday was Reading, Wednesday was Legoland, Thursday was Windsor and Friday was London Aquarium, Saturday was shopping in various places...........

So it was goooood to get home to relax!! Have lots of photos so the exploding box for chrimbo pressie is sorted lol. I didn't get to meet Steph unfortunately cos every minute was accounted for!!
Have plugged in and installed my Robo tonight, and quite chuffed cos I did it all by myself!

I have been feeling a bit down lately due to a couple of things but yesterday my mates cheered me up, which gave me enough confidence to start my horrendous 3 lots of medication today! (plus Em bullied me into it!). Have been suffering today but apparently (according to Dr Sue) if I read a side affect on the t'internet that does not necessarily mean I am going to get it!!! Although one of the medicines has a side affect of confusion - which I find very funny! (and when I do get this one can you remind me it is due to the pills and my name and address is ..................pmsl!)

Well here are a couple of piccies but the best ones are on DH's camera so I'll have to get those off him!

(can't wait to scrap the first photo - ain't that just begging for a sarcastic title!)

Hey!

Compared to last week, this one has been an odd one!

Great news on the safe arrival of Kya. Carol, is my friend at work (another craftie bonkers bird!) and her daughter gave birth to a beautiful miracle. Now I think every baby is a miracle, but this one more so! At 4 months Sam was told she had miscarried. She hadn't. At 7 months Sam was told the baby had died. She hadn't. At 8 months Sam was told she was going to be induced cos it was unlikely that the baby would survive........so the fact that Kya is here, healthy and beautiful is bloody amazing!!

So I made Carol this canvas:

Excuse the scan - camera is being charged!

Then I woke up to find my little man sat on the landing, surrounded in pages with drawings on. And this is what he was doing - warning, tissues needed!

"Cat missing. I love him. He is black and he is 12, phone mum"

So Casper is still not home.........it's been almost two weeks now. Not thinking about the inevitable but now when people are asking they have that kind of look that says 'oh dear'!

AND this week I have been diagnosed with a syndrome! (never had a syndrome before). Now I have been having lots of tests and lots of poking and prodding and finally this week we have a result! Only taken 18 months! It's not quite what I was expecting, plus I have two things wrong but they have finally found out what it is and I can go on medication. But the side affects are awesome - not that I got any sympathy from my so called friends! So this time next week, expect a phychotic wreck with lots of physical 'problems' - deep joy!! I am ok though, so don't be worrying ;o)

what a week!

Monday - dislocated my left hip OWWWWHHHH f******* OOOOOOwwwwwwwwwwhhhh!

Tuesday - another disaster to deal with (is it my imagination or are we getting more and more disasters since Brown became pm?!)

Wednesday - gave Lynne her going away surprise party and her scrapbook and video (and spent 10 minutes handing her tissues as she sobbed like a baby ;o) )

Thursday - sorted the 87 sets of Stamp Man ATC swaps (OMG 87!!!)

Friday - spent the day doing my garden and now I have my fancy smancy pergola - which I adore btw and will take a photo tomorrow, spent the afternoon planting all the plants I have been saving. I now have a wisteria climbing up it, I have always wanted a wisteria and now I have one - very happy! Also as I was mowing the lawn, stood funny on my leg which promptly popped my hip nicely back into place and now do not walk like I have had a little 'accident' and swearing with every single step lol!

Am sad this week though, have not seen my big squidgy cat since Sunday................not looking good ;o( Am hoping he will just wander back in at some point - hope so anyway!

Off to a work's family fun day tomorrow with Bex and the boys, can't wait!

Lynne's Scrapbook

Well, last week we all met round at Trudy's and we had a crop! My first time at a crop and it was ironic that it was with a group of friends who have never scrapbooked in their lives and we usually meet up for parties and meals! We are making a scrapbook for Lynne's leaving pressie and I have to say the girls did a really good job. I stepped back a bit and just let them go for whatever pages they wanted to do. It is really odd, and something I have never really noticed with the 'professional' scrappers, but the pages really do reflect personalities. for example, Trudy's is pink and fluffy, Lisa's is plonked on and full of fun, Lynda's evolves around sex and shoes!!! I got to do lots of filler pages too, which I loved doing too.

I had such a good time and I know Lynne is going to love it when we give it to her on Wednesday. I just have one dlo to to about work (where we all met 12 years ago!!).

Sue's Music challenge

Here is my LO for Sue's Music Lo:

and its me - now right from ooo way back when we started our team I always
wanted to do a LO based on song lyrics So not much has changed just tweaked
a little YOUR CHALLENGE IS TO create a STUNNING LO with a theme of MUSIC -
could be song lyrics musical instruments musical shows

It wasn't allowed to be 12x12 - so this is just less ;o)

Sue won't mind, cos she is a cheat anyways lol!

I chose 'Two Little Boys' because I love the song (and I have a Rolf story and my uni ball story that I'll tell you another time) and also the boys really are the best of friends and have been since they were born (5 days apart). I cannot believe they are now at school and all the baby photos of them seem soooooooooo long ago!

The best night ever!

Well I am back from the best night out EVER! There is a group of us girls who meet about every 2 / 3 months and we go for meals out and night's in etc and they are all fab. Well Lynne is leaving and going to Oz, so we want to do some special pressies for her. So Trudy suggested a scrapbook, so we're going to do a crop and get her a book done (guess who is supervising that!

And then we had a genius idea of a video diary for her to take with her. So tonight we have gone round town and video'd bits and pieces, ranging from the crack in the pavement where Lisa lost her heal - to Jenny's 20 year old son and his friends appreciating the concept of Mrs Robinson lol! We did all the pubs and a drink in each - ending up with a dance around our handbags! I thankfully dibbed the role of cameraamn At one point, regarding an episode in the ladies involving toilet roll and Lisa's jeans, I was laughing so much I honestly thought I was going to wet myself *blush* I have face ache!

It was so good to go out and be silly with the girls - fab fab fab!

I love anaethestic!

I gave blood today and usually at this time I am in agony as they can never find a vein and they have to dig around (bleugh!) but this time I had a local anaethestic and I am in no pain whatsoever!!! Begs the question why it has taken me to my 8th pint to have this! was a bit gutted cos I thought this was my 10th pint and I was going to get a badge but I still have two more to go! Well tbh I have ALOT more to go, I made a vow to replace all the blood that my dad has used in various ops and transfusions.....................just a few 100 more to go!

Well have been busy making stuff too!
Here are the bracelets for Ol's teacher and teaching assistants. This also doubles up as Mel's latest challenge for me, to use some of my fav stash. I love these beads and so glad I finally made something with them!

And this is for my friend Sarah, who has passed her law exams and is now a real life proper solicitor!
Am happy with the card, liking the necklace too but the picture is pants - sorry!

Ain't my mum clever!

You may remember a while ago I did a post that Iain died, well mum wanted to do something to comemorate his life so she made this and donated it to Manorlands, the hospice where he died. The photo does not do it justice - it is so beautiful!

Grrrrrrr!

I have just finished a complaint to the cinema we went to see Shrek at last week. For the last week Ol has cried every night when he has goen to bed. So we have tried to find out what is wrong but he just did not want to talk about it. So at 3.00am he started screaming because there was a man in his room who was going to take him away.................

.....now just before Shrek there was a plea to find Madeline. Now don't get me wrong, I am all for finding that poor little girl and hope and pray that they do. But this plea was well a bit too graphic tbh! The cinema was PACKED with kids and the plea went into great detail about how she was taken away from her mummy and daddy while she slept in her bed. All the kids looked terrified!

So all week he has worried about this and I have now sat him down and tried to explain why and how all this happened. We have already had the do not talk to strangers etc and he understands all that - what has upset him is the thought of them coming in to his room while he sleeps ;o(

Just did not expect to have this conversation at 5 years old!!

Teacher Card

Here is a card I totally unashamedly lifted from Kathy - but she did give me permission! It is nowehere near as wonderful as hers.............but it'll do!

And I got a gorgeous card from Em this morning - the one I saw on Little Silver Hat website which I said I adored! Good job I said that eh?!

And I sent Carol a little something today, to keep her safe tomorrow - I think she quite liked it lol but she made the funniest spelling mistake EVER on her text which turned the message into something SO rude it made me laugh all morning!!!

I love the post man!

Two fab bits of post today!

One was confirmation from my college to say I had got onto the postgraduate teaching course! Start in Sept - so when I am moaning in October cos I can't do it, remind how excited I was!

And the second letter was a card from Nerdbird...............it was a beautiful card....................but the piccie of Dr McDreamy that was inside was bloody lovely!!! Am deciding which wall he is going to go on in my craft room - yum yum!! I laughed so much, really did brighten my day!

New conservatory is in day 3. Hands up who rips down their own conservatory and puts up a new one whilst we have flash floods and nightmare weather? luverly!

I have finished the photo swap challenge. It was my challenge and it was really hard! I got a gorgeous photo off my partner, Nickynoo. I just got stressed with it being for someone else! I am quite happy with it in the end, just drying so will show you tomorrow.

And me and Ollie are going on a day trip soon - am such a giddy kipper! So excited!

Who's birthday?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EM!!!!

Saturday, June 30, 2007

yeay!

We have had a fab day! First we all went swimming, was really good fun!

Then we went to Pizza Hut - how do they make those pizzas soooooooooooooooo good?!

Then we went to the piccies to see Shrek 3 - OMG that film is so cool! Some very cheeky jokes that only the big people laughed at, but a really good family film - we all loved it!

THEN we went to Ikea, well it would rude not to! We came out with some silver tubs, coat hangers and a blanket - so not entirely worth the 20 min que in the car park lol!

Then daddy made the mistake of saying that if Ol could read a certain word, he would take him to Toys R Us and he could have what he wanted - so Ol then read out the word which was aquarium! Daddy nearly fell over in shock and he did honour his agreement and Ol now has a big bucket full of dinosaurs! So should I tell daddy that while he was paying for Ikea, Ol asked me what the word said and so I told him? Nah I don't fink so!!

So all in all a good day!

Mel's Challenge

This is what I made for Mel's challenge. I was challenged to make a teacher pressie.

The set is from Ikea and friends can expect some similar xmas pressies ;o)

The quote on the tray says:
It is the supreme art of the teacher to awakenjoy in creative expression and knowledge.
Albert Einstein

Thanks Mel x
